For the third consecutive meeting, the Jefferson Parish Council on Wednesday deferred a resolution to let the inspector general access legal communications inside the government without waiving attorney-client privilege. The local ordinance establishing the inspector general's office already precludes such a waiver, but the parish attorney's office maintains that the state's code of evidence overrides Jefferson's law.
