Jefferson Parish Councilman Mark Spears Jr. said Thursday he is "disappointed" that he was named in a new inspector general's report asserting that the non-profit organization Louisiana Community & Family Services Inc. misused public money. Inspector General David McClintock's report says the non-profit received $114,243 in parish-administered federal grant money over three years starting in 2011 and commingled it with other private and public money.
